Virtual Table permissions for Model App Use

Hello,

I have a Virtual connector table setup in an environment and I cannot work out how to give users access to the data in this table. I have created a Model Driven app which has a view from the virtual table. Users can access the app page but the view says there is no data. When I view the app I see the data OK.

I have confirmed the following in trying to work out the issue:

  • The Connection (to on premise SQL) used by the virtual table is shared to the org
  • The user is assigned to a security group which has access to read, write etc to the table
  • I have checked a number of other security group settings and all are selected that I believe are needed.

Any suggestions to what may be preventing the users access to the data?

Thanks

Andrew

Hi @AWM ,

Looks like you have done the correct steps here, You are utilizing an enterprise data gateway vs. a personal data gateway right?  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/gateway-reference#types-of-gateways

Wondering if this might be the issue with the access to the data.  If you setup using a personal gateway other users would not have access.

Hope this helps. Please accept if answers your question or Like if helps in any way.
Thanks,
Drew

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, yes the gateway is an enterprise gateway and the users can access data through it for other tables. It is strange as I have not seen this issue before.

Thanks

Andrew
