When not to enable attachments/notes?

Hi all!

I'm creating some custom entities and wanted to know if there's ever a time when enabling attachments/notes is ever a bad thing? For some of the entities I don't know if I'd use attachments/notes, but I also don't see a downside to enabling it off the bat. I do realize I can always go into my entities after I create them and enable attachments/notes, but again I don't know why I wouldn't always enable those when I create the entity.

Thanks!

Yes--when I have multiple relationships, I want to limit where people can attach things. Say I have a list of countries, I don't necessarily want people attaching files and notes at that level.

Part of it is controlling size of the database, as adding notes and attachments adds additional relationships. Also, I want to make sure that files aren't attaches places where there is more open security, in case people attach sensitive files and notes there.

It also makes user experience better to not have notes and activities related to everything, as when I search via advanced find or for activities, set regarding on an activity, I don't have to scroll through as many entity types.

Remember--if you enable it, you can never dis-enable it. but if you do not enable it at first, you can always enable it later if you need it.
