Docparser Adds OCR And PDF Data Extraction To Microsoft Flow And PowerApps

Does your business involve handling documents, such as invoices, purchase orders, shipping notes, etc. on a daily basis? Do you find yourself re-keying valuable data which is trapped inside PDF or scanned documents? If your business relies on data which is not available in an easy-to-access format, manual data entry can quickly become a bottleneck and harm your business. Luckily, there is a solution to this problem!

We recently launched our Docparser connector for Microsoft Flow and PowerApps. This new integration makes it easy to leverage Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and PDF data extraction with Microsoft Flow or PowerApps. Over are the days of manually copy & pasting data from documents!

About Docparser

Docparser is a data capture solution built for today's modern cloud stack. With Docparser you can automatically fetch documents (PDFs and scanned documents) from various sources, extract the data you are looking for, and move it to where it belongs in real-time. Import your documents to Docparser, let our parsing engine do its work and get easy-to-handle data in return. It's that easy!

Our parsing engine extracts relevant data fields from your document based on parsing rules which are 100% tailored to your needs. Creating parsing rules is easy and requires zero coding. Docparser can identify and extract data using Zonal OCR technology, advanced pattern recognition or with the help of anchor keywords.

Extracting data from documents is however just one part of the equation. The real power of Docparser is unleashed when you automate entire document based business processes by connecting it to a platform like Microsoft Flow or PowerApps. Whether it is adding a new row inside a database, creating or updating a record in your ERP or CRM system, sending business data from PDF to Google Sheets, we have it all covered for you!

The Docparser Microsoft Flow Connector

Our Microsoft Flow connector offers the two following basic operations:

  • Import Documents From [Your-Favorite-App] To Docparser
  • Obtain Parsed Data From Docparser And Send It To [Your-Favorite-App]

Using those two basic operations, you can create any kind of automated workflow around Docparser. For example, you can import documents from a cloud storage provider and then automatically send the parsed data to a database.

Popular Use-Cases for OCR and PDF Data Extraction With Microsoft Flow and PowerApps

Thanks to the felixibility of Flow and PowerApps, the possibilities to leverage OCR in your workflow are endless. As a rule of thumb, Docparser works best if you want to extract data from recurring documents with a fixed layout. A good example for this would be Purchase Orders from one of your vendors.

At Docparser, we support the following popular use-cases:

  • Accounts Payable and Invoice Processing
  • Automate Procurement and Order Fulfilment
  • Shipping Notes and Delivery Orders Processing
  • Automatically Process Standardized Legal Documents
  • Automate Document Based HR Processes
  • Convert PDF Forms to Excel or CSV
  • ...

Thanks to the power of Microsoft Flow, Docparser integrates with hundreds of applications. Here are some examples of how our customers connect Microsoft Flow and Docparser:

  • Automatically import documents from a specific folder in your cloud storage account (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Box.com, …)
  • Search for emails matching a specific pattern in your inbox and import all attachments
  • Automatically append data from PDF to Excel file
  • Copy data from PDF to database tables
  • ….

You get the idea … The possibilities are endless!

Get Started With Microsoft Flow And Docparser

Create Custom Apps With Microsoft PowerApps And Docparser
With the release of our Microsoft Flow connector, Docparser is also listed as a data source on the Microsoft PowerApps platform. The Docparser connector in PowerApps offers the exact same functionality as the Microsoft Flow connector. It allows you to automatically import documents to Docparser and get the parsed data back in return.

Comments

Hi!

I'm creating a PowerApp that includes capturing the details of email signatures. Can DOCPARSER do this?  If so how?  What connector do I need to add to my PowerApp?

Thanks for the urgent response.
