Dynamics 365 CRM Connector vs Command Data Service

Hi,

I'm really having difficulty in getting why there is 2 connector to the main source, I want to make an app to interact with our Dynamics 365 CRM, should i use the Command Data service, or the D365 CRM, and in case I had to use the D365 when I will change the organization, as now I'm developing in the sandbox and I will import in Production

Re: Dynamics 365 CRM Connector vs Command Data Service

Hi,

The preferred option is to use the Common Data Service connector. The Dynamics 365 connector was announced as being deprecated in April, see this article https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/nine-new-connectors-in-april-and-improved-visibility-into-trig....

When you promote an app from a Sandboxes environment to a Prod environment you get the chance to change the CDS or Dynamics 365 instance the app is pointing to. See this article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/environment-and-tenant-migration

Re: Dynamics 365 CRM Connector vs Command Data Service

Hi,

Any idea how can I use the Price List entity inside the CDS, the entity doesn't exist, also the discount list and both of them required in my application

Re: Dynamics 365 CRM Connector vs Command Data Service

Sounds like you are connecting to a CDS instance that does not have the Dynamics 365 apps installed.  Use the CDS Connector for PowerApps to connect to your Dynamics 365 environment.  All entities within your Dynamics 365 environment should be available to the CDS connector.
