Error importing Managed Solution "The CustomControl ID does not exist"

Hi Team,

We are attempting to export one of our managed solutions (model-driven apps) with some new PCF controls we've added (set to production build) but are encountering errors when importing that solution into fresh environment.

Error appears to be with the entity form we have the new control on:

System-populated field for the XML representation of the layout of the form or dashboard.

The CustomControl ID does not exist for the specified name miiia_Controls.WebResourceLookup

Any ideas what we are doing wrong?

Cheers,

Dan Hesketh

@Dan I have the same issue. Could you resolve it?

Re: Error importing Managed Solution "The CustomControl ID does not exist"

Hi @tdashworth-cap  Tom,

What we found was that:

- When building a PCF in "develop" mode it results in the Unmanaged Solution, with a Controls folder inside the .zip

- When building a PCF in "release" mode the resulting Managed Solution does not contain the Controls folder above.

So as a workaround we took the Controls folder from the Unmanaged solution and copied it into the Managed solution .zip.

Can't recall if we also had to check the customizations.xml and solution.xml files also for entries.

I did speak to both the AppSource and PCF teams about this issue as we were trying to include Managed/release PCFs within another Model-driven app solution (also Managed) and this problem was giving us headaches. The workaround seemed to solve it for us for now. Hopefully this whole ALM story will develop a bit more soon.

Hope the unscientific explanation is helpful.

Dan
