Assign a role to a team (associated to AAD group) rather than individual user in power platform admin

Hello everyone,

After creating a team and associated it to an AAD office group in power platform admin center, how can I assign a security role to this newly created team.

I was following this article

Manage Teams

I am working on governing the powerapps environment by creating multiple teams and assigning group, but I am not able to figure out the process to assign a security role after creating a team.

Thanks.

Re: Assign a role to a team (associated to AAD group) rather than individual user in power platform admin

Hi @v-yutliu-msft

I figure it out, it's the UI, admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com platform still does not give the option to manage the roles of the team. When I went to Dynamics 365 and into teams, I was able to see the manage roles option. It's a bug needs to be fixed by Microsoft.

Re: Assign a role to a team (associated to AAD group) rather than individual user in power platform admin

Hi @Rishabh126 ,

Do you want to add a azure ad group as a team in power platform?

Based on your description, I assume that you've created azure ad group.

Then, you need to add a team in your environment and use this group's information.

1)choose your environment, choose settings

2)choose team

3)choose "new", create a new team.

After you creating the team successfully, you could find it here:

Then the member information will be the same as the group.

Please note that:

The list of team members listed in each group team only displays the user members who have accessed the environment. This list doesn’t show all the group members of the Azure AD group.

4)create a new security role that you want to assign to this team

choose "security role" in the settings of the environment.

Please note that, if you create a security role for a team you need to choose Direct User/Basic access level and Team privileges when creating the security role.

5)in the team part, assign this security role to this team.

Here are two docs about it for your reference:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/manage-teams

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/security-roles-privileges

Re: Assign a role to a team (associated to AAD group) rather than individual user in power platform admin

Hi @v-yutliu-msft

Thank you so much for the detail process, I have already created the teams and associated the group ID with it. Also, I have already changed the Member's Privilege inheritance to Direct User/Basic access level and Team privileges when creating the security

But I am not able to see manage team roles option in here.

Thanks.
