I have a Power Apps which uses the following connections:
1)Office 365 Outlook
And everything works fine in Development instance.
The app was included in the solution and exported the solution as a managed solution. And the managed solution got imported successfully in the target instance but when I want to run the app, the below screen (pic 1) gets opened and not able to process further.
I have added all the connections, still, I get the above screen.
The easy option is to export package and import in the target instance but not sure if it possible with a managed solution.
Many thanks in advance.
Hi @hemantkumar ,
Connections require authentication and consent, which requires an interactive user session and therefore cannot be transported via solutions. So these three data sources will all become invalid in the target environment.
So you need to create connection inside the app.
However, managed solution has this limit:
If a canvas app is packaged in a managed solution, it can't be edited and re-published in the target environment. Use unmanaged solutions if the apps require editing in the target environment.
So please use unmanaged solutions. After you import this app to target environment, edit the app, recreate connection with these three data sources.
Here's the doc about limit in solution for your reference:
Thank you @v-yutliu-msft for your response.
Yes, it works very well when the app is part of the un-managed solution or imported independent, but the app can be edited by another user easily in the target instance.
So I don't the app to be edited by any other user in the target instance, that is the reason I included the app in the managed solution. And also, I added all the connections prior to importing the solution in the target instance, except CDS other data sources say " This app needs access to this connection."
Hi @hemantkumar ,
1)I'm afraid you could only use unmanaged solution to import.
This is solution's limit.
If you want others can not edit this app, you could change others' permission in this environment.
2)You need to recreate connection inside the app, not just in powerapps studio.
Were you able to fix this issue with managed solutions?
I am having the same issue. I want the customer to be able to use their connections but not be able to edit the app.
