PowerApps: Where is the data stored?

Hello everybody,
I am new to PowerApps and my compnay needs to know how and when data in PowerApps is stored.
As far my understanding is:
1. Variables and collections are deleted after the App is closed
2. My Apps are stored on the Microsoft Server
3. PowerApps is only manipulating the data in the original source,....
3. however, the data shown in the App must be stored somewhere in the App, otherwise it could not be shown...right?

I would like to know if my understanding is correct.
Have a nice day!

Hi @Volswinkler ,

You understanding of 1-3 are all correct, and for detailed information about data sources in PowerApps, you could refer to below documentation:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/working-with-data-sources

Hi @Volswinkler ,

No, the data is still stored in the data source side. Like if it's a SharePoint online list, then the data is stored in Office 365. If it's on-premise SharePoint server, then the data in stored in the local SharePoint server. PowerApps only connects to the data source, it does not store the data.

Thanks so far.

If PowerApps is stored on the Microsoft Servers and the data itself is stored in the App,

that means that my data is on the Microsoft Server (during runtime) as well. Correct?

Is it possible to run PowerApps on a local enviroment?

So no data is stored on the Microsoft-Servers?

Hi

So if I have a mobile / cell phone and the PowerApp has ClearCollect(myCollection,'mySharePointList')  where is myCollection stored ?

Is myCollection stored with the PowerApp in Azure or is myCollection stored on the mobile / cell phone ?

Thanks

Nigel
