PowerApps and Sharepoint List Security

Hi,

I have a sharepoint list connected to powerapps.

The App, is made so that Field Technicians can enter data using Powerapps.

But the data is visible if any of the member visits the sharepoint page.

How can I provide security to the data.

You can make it more difficult by hiding the list or the site the list is on, but you can't really change the security.  Power Apps requires that users have the same permissions to the list itself that they need to use the list in Power Apps.  so if they are going to Enter data into the list using Power Apps they need Read Write permission to the list.  The only thing you can do from a security standpoint is use Power Automate to change the item level permissions on items in the list so each Field Tech can only see certain items.  But that requires a good bit of extra effort.

We use a permission under the list's advanced settings:

If the user created the row in the list, they will see the data.  If they didn't, they won't.  This was a very specific case for us though - and it takes a full privilege user to read the data - in our case a nightly powerautomate flow processes the data.

This probably isn't your use case, but it is handy for us.
