Stop using shared sql server credentials

Hey everyone,

I created a Power Apps app in Power BI which gets data from an On-Prem SQL Server (using a gateway). If I share this Power BI Report and App (you need to share both so users could access them), I also have to share the SQL Server connection with the users/org (Permissions: "Can use") so they have access to the database. My SQL Server authentication type is "Windows Authentication". I used Row Level Security (RLS) within Power BI to only show specific entries to the users and this filter is also applied to the Power Apps app within the Report.

Following question: Because the SQL Server connection is shared with the whole organization, everyone could just create a new app in Power Apps and use this connection to access all items within the database (filtering is not applied). Is there a way to stop users from using this connection within other apps or to configure the connection that users are using their credentials?

P.S.: I don't use Azure AD Connect (AADC) in this scenario, my users are cloud-only and I created a test environment within an Azure VM. Is there maybe a way to pass authentication using AADC?

Thanks in advance!
