User Stuck at Loading Page

Hello Everyone, I have a user report that he stuck at this purple loading page,

 

It seems that he can use website version without issue, but the desktop version are loading forever (we waited for roughly 10 mins),

Any one have idea of what is the cause of this issue?

Desktop version of power apps player has not been updated for a long time. Also I believe it still uses internet explorer in the background. So I wouldn’t use it. There really is no compelling reason to use it over browser, as most of the device level stuff like offline don’t work on the windows app player. In other words, use a browser, chrome preferably.

 

have the user log on to home.dynamics.com, from which they can launch any of the apps that are shared with them

Thanks mate. The only reason we have to use a desktop version is because the Import and Export function

They does not working on a browser. Thank you for your reply but guess its an issue I have to solve.

So what desktop version of power apps are you talking about? Are you referring to the old power apps studio desktop app that hasn’t been available for years? I thought that you were talking about the desktop player in the windows store.

 

you can import data into an app from browser, choose excel as data source and you can import data into the app.

 

powerapps studio desktop is dead

Hi, yes it is the one from Microsoft Store. It is canvas app by the way

I have completed building this app, these two functions are there for users to import/export their own collections as JSON file.

Ok I see what you mean—I had blocked from my memory that the windows app had the ability to create apps. I still would not use it—it is based on internet explorer and hasn’t been updated for years. When I start it on my computer and go to the new tab it doesn't do anything.

 

and the import and export of data can be done from the web. Your apps will be much faster and up to date doing it in the browser

 

there is no compelling reason to use the windows desktop app. To import data into cds you can go to make.powerapps.com and click data and Import your data.

 

 

@jlindstrom , They do prevent user to generate their own JSON file from a website 😞

Sure but there are other ways of doing what you want to do. I’m not discounting the validity of what you are doing but holding on to a legacy pattern that doesn’t work isn’t a good plan. I would look to redesign your process so it can be done from the modern maker experience. You can call support but they will recommend using browser

Hi @hsy ,

Do you mean that the PowerApps Desktop App could not load as expected?

 

I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. The version of my PowerApps Desktop app is 3.18054.39.

 

Please make sure the Network is in good condition on your side. And you do not block the Required services for PowerApps through the FireWall in your PC.

 

Also please consider uninstall the PowerApps Desktop Client from your PC, and then re-start your PC, and install the PowerApps Desktop Client again, check if the issue is fixed.

 

Just as @jlindstrom mentioned, we currently don't support new features on PowerApps Windows platform. Please check the following article for more details:
