Level: Power Up

versions of powerapp with different datasources

Hey,

I have created my first powerapp, it is a devlopment version that uses a custom connector, that I have created. The custom connector points to an api that I have also written.

Now I am at the point of want to push the api through our deployment pipeline, so into a test environment, then a UAT environment and the finally to live.

Presumably I need to set up a custom connector for test, uat and live api.

What is the best way to achieve this when it comes to managing the powerapp.  I want to have a test, uat and live version of the powerapp, where each powerapp published version points to the respective api version.

Is the problem solved easily using a power app "environment"? it didnt look like this would solve the issue...

Many thanks

Re: versions of powerapp with different datasources

Hi @laurabaker ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you want to deploy your canvas app using Custom connector from your Developer environment to Test Environment?

If you want to deploy your canvas app using Custom connector from your Developer environment to Test Environment, I think the Solution functionality could achieve your needs.

On your side, you could consider add a Solution in your PowerApps Developer Environment, then within this solution, create a new custom connector based on your rest api as below:2.JPG

then add your existing canvas app into this solution. After that, export this solution into a Package file, then switch your PowerApps Environment to Test Env, then import the exported package file.

Please check and see if the following blog would help in your scenario:

More details about using Solutions in PowerApps, please check the following article:
