Please consider adding a feature to get to the appended comment history from a sharpoint list comment filed with append and versioning turned on to appear in a power app card?
Thank you @Anonymous for sharing,
I've had trouble trying to follow these steps (since it's in written format without screenshots/visual aids) and did not know which steps I was missing that prevented my custom form to act as it should be.
With that, I found a YouTube video that implements the solution that almost exactly same as yours. Highly recommend anyone who is still struggle taking a look at this video
Please implement this suggestion. Work at a Fortune 500 company and have a business case where the version history is required for legal reasons.
@radiosonicfan, I've been harping on Microsoft to do something about this for a long time, and I've gotten nowhere. In my experience, Microsoft will either never implement it, or they'll implement it poorly.
Because of this issue and many others while using SharePoint lists as the source of data in a Power App, I've since abandoned SharePoint lists altogether. Instead, I use JSON files stored in a SharePoint library as the data source, and Power Apps calls an appropriate Power Automate flow to interact with those files. It does take more work to set up and is a bit slower (because SharePoint itself is rather poorly implemented), but I'm no longer limited by how Microsoft set up the interface between SharePoint lists and Power Apps.
This (and many others) will continue to be an issue until Microsoft starts hiring competent software engineers (don't count on that happening soon).
Spent a day building a power-less-app only to hit a wall with this lack of functionality. Back to wiring up a JSON SharePoint list form.
Any update? It's now 2022. SharePoint appended text field still shows only the latest appended entry.
Also been waiting for this function for a long time, it seems such a simple thing to do. I'm assuming, as it's taking so long, its actually equivalent to building the great pyramid!!
I love MS and PowerApps/Flow etc but come on, this really is just giving MS bashers ammo...
Please implement this - I am using versioning to capture Approval responses in a SharePoint list and this is making it difficult to use a PowerApp instead of the default SharePoint list view.
