Application Restart

Presently, it is extremely difficult to force OnStart events and OnVisible events to predictably fire when going between development and preview modes.  Strongly recommend a simple Restart button that allows the OnStart event to fire predictably when entering Preview mode.

Status: Planned

We understand your feedback, and improvements are planned for being able to preview OnState statements. However, I don't have a date for when this will be released yet.

Just sharing a tip that I normally do; I will put the OnStart statements in the OnVisible of the first screen until I have everything working the way I'd like it to work. Then before publishing the changes I move them into the OnStart. This may fill the gap for you until we can enhance this experience.

Thank you for your patience and continued feedback,

Audrie

As a follow up, I have not seen any articles that suggest how to accomplish this other than refreshing browser (requires re-login) or closing browser .. again, forcing a new login.

I've noticed this issue as well.  As an additional alternative, I've been using the 'Close' app option and then reloading it.  Still a bit painful, but at least it doesn't require you to re-authenticate into the web site.

Totally agree, this needs to be resolved and is very frustrating!

I would love to have an App Refresh button that would reload the app, not just the datasets. Which would retrigger the OnStart event

Yes I'd love to see this as well!

Would love to see this implemented too! At the moment I'm having to use PITA formulas to update nested variables defined in OnStart, would be so much easier if I could just assign something like "Run(OnStart)" to a button's OnSelect
