Attach a file to form

I'd like to be able to use a control like the Add Picture button, but for Files of any type.

The control would open up a file picker, I could select the file and then I can upload the same as content from Add Picture.

For example, my current need is to attach a document (doc, ppt, pdf, etc) to an Annotation to a Case in Dynamics 365.

Status: Completed

Thank you,

Audrie

I don't know if I would consider this complete either. If you want to upload a file to a SharePoint Library (not as an attachment) or say to Azure Storage, your option is still only the picture uploader and using workarounds to use that as a "file uploader"

Uploading a file to SQL works well using the AddPicture control with one MAJOR drawback -- the control does not convey the filename that was selected from the file picker dialog.  Users must manually enter that information, which is crazy.  Even crazier, once a file is picked, hovering over the AddPicture control displays the actual filename.  But there is currently no way to get that text.  Or am I missing something?  Please let us know that you will be adding a simple property to the AddPicture control soon that contains the selected filename (or an alternative way to get it without custom API coding!)  Thanks!

WE NEED TO UPLOAD FILES, NOT PICTURES!!!!!!!

Have any one found a way to upload attachment to Dynamics 365 ?

Have microsoft released any feature for this ?

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 connector in the future will not be supported and probably deprecated. The CDS connector is the one you need to use now, although it is a premium connector requring a P1 license or greater currently.

@netmarie You can use

AddMediaButton1.FileName

if You want to get file name.

Hi,

I would like to add pdf and save it to sql table file but I can’t do that because addimage control shows only image files on my phone :(. How can I do this?
Thanks

I have done it :). What did I do:

1. I copied attachmentcontrol from the old ver of some app because I couldn't paste it from menu - that's works only with Sharepoint what is not understandable for me (I set MaxAttachments to 1 - I need only one PDF :))

2. OnAddFile, for this control, I set: Set(file_from_phone;First(MyControl.Attachments.Value))

3. Now I can save any file, from this control, to the varbinary field in my SQL Table using patch 🙂

Patch('[dbo].[testtable]'; Defaults('[dbo].[testtable]'); {File: file_from_phone.Value})

It works great:)
