Thx for your suggestion. Enabling PowerBI to report on CDM is high on our priorities. I am curious about your comment on direct query. Are there specific reasons why you prefer DirectQuery as opposed to Import mode ?

Level: Powered On

Yes...because powerBI Embedded works only with Direct Query. Thanks.

Hi,

I also prefer direct query as PowerBI can show up to date data as users access whereas the import mode can refresh only up to 8 times a day.

Also, CDS data should be exposed to Excel Power Query with the ability to refresh

Hi @Audrie-MSFT, thanks for all the updates this is really helpful.  Any idea when the PowerBI connector will be released outside the US?

Hi @Audrie-MSFT, I wrote to CDSPowerBIPreview(at)Service.Microsoft.com last week but have had no response so far.

Anyway, thanks for following up.

Dear all, this is great news for Power BI, but maybe some of us still need to analyse and visualise the data in pivot tables and print reports.  For this, Excel's Power Query (aka Get & Transform) is perfect.

Please add your vote to the following idea if this relevant for you:
