The new Entity Form is nice. It will be even more useful when we can create custom field groups on CDS entities and also specify the field group used on the Entity Form. Thanks for listening.

Thanks for the feedback. Can you help us understand the ways in which are you looking to use custom field groups? Also are default field groups limiting you in some ways?

The new Entity Form control uses field groups to determine which fields show and do not show on the form dynamically. Depending on whether the fields are in the default field groups for List, Card, Details, Lookup, entity forms of those types will display the field in those groups.
This is handy because you can change the field groups in a central location and it will affect all entity forms.
But what if you don't want the change to affect all forms?
What if you want some Customer details forms to show these fields and some other customer details forms to show other fields?
The following would solve this:
1 - Allow Custom Field Groups
2 - Allow specifying field group on Entity Form
