Calling a Stored Procedure in PowerApps

It would be fantastic to have stored procedure access to PowerApps. It's a feature presently blocking a number of customers of ours from implementing PowerApps since much of their logic is in the sprocs already. They don't want to implement Flow for this since they see it as another cog to pay for. This seems like pretty core functionality but there must be some big technical blocker from MS implementing it.

Just starting out in PowerApps, first project would benefit greatly from ability to call Stored Procs,

need to filter results based on date and powerapps does not do > on datetime fields.

Adding flow is very useful for Microsoft’s business model I guess. It is integrated in my field of expertise,Dynamics ERP, as well. Relatively new at PA i was surprised not to be able to call my sprocs directly (on which I spent a lot of time on building).  So come on MS ! make our lives a little easier.

In my case I want to calculate my nearby customers based on my current GPS location. Performance is horrible when formula is handled by PA.

p.s. Any progress on that SQL server @joshbooker after insert Trigger trick ?

As far as I know, the built-in SQL Server connector explicitly prevents PA and Flow from inserting into tables having triggers as discussed here.  We need the ability to advance connectors to overcome such limitations like so:

Throwing my hat into the ring here as well. Many of the deficiencies I've encountered in PowerApps could be address simply by adding proper native support for Stored Procedures.

1. Simplified app development and maintenance by offloading code to the server

2. Improved performance by offloading the most intensive data-related tasks to the server

3. Workaround for "delegability" challenges

4. If properly implemented, would address the lack of support for Triggers

Microsoft, It's really annoying needing to got with a flow to execute a stored procedure. We really need this!
