Changing mouse to hand icon when hovering over objects with OnSelect function

I have received some feedback from my app users that it is sometimes hard to tell when image or text is clickable. On the desktop version, when you hover over an image the icon remains the same or when you hover a text it changes to the edit text icon, the mouse icon seems to change to hand icon only when hovering over objects like Icons or Controls like Button control.

Example 1
The text in the Org Browser by Microsoft says View My Profile, when hovering over it with mouse, the mouse icon changes to select text icon.

Example 2
When using images as buttons, the mouse will stay as a cursor and will not change to the hand icon.

Example 3
Hovering mouse over the button. It changes to hand icon and it is clear that you can click it.

This is not a problem on the Phone since you click with your fingers but it confuses the users on desktop. Would it be possible to make all objects with functions in OnSelect property to have a <a> tag or something similar that it would force the mouse cursor to change into hand?

Ok @FilipK , thanks 🙂

@FilipK I also confirm @Bill_Hand statement that the hand icon does not appear when hovering over buttons in the published app. The hover icon only changes to hand within PowerApps during Preview mode, but it does not change when hovering in the live app (in either Display or Edit modes).

Power Apps

I can confirm this is a bug. We don't yet have an ETA for a fix, but will try to schedule it ASAP.

Thanks @miglisic !

@miglisic @FilipK  Any word on when the hover over buttons bug will be fixed?

Really looking forward to this fix, do we have an ETA yet? Am reluctant to launch my site as I have 30,000 users, and the stakeholder feedback so far, has been that this is missing. Carol

Just expressing my agreement here to hopefully help bump this post up. Really confusing UI/UX  when the cursor does not reflect interface functionality.

Yes, please! I did go ahead and launch my app, average users 2000-3000 a day at the moment, but have held back on marketing it in a big way for fear of negative feedback because of the missing hand icon.

I have used an Icon instead of a label/button as all I needed was HintText and OnSelect. Changed the color to Transparent and worked a treat.

This kind of worked, but it was a bit hit and miss. I tried the octagon first, but when I stretched it to fit over my button underneath, it lost its ability to display the hand. I eventually found that the document icon retained its properties, and that has worked. But I would still rather the buttons would be WYSIWYG!
