There are multiple scenarios where we need to point to a specific location on visible content, and act upon the location that was pointed to.
This could be applied to a map, or a picture that contains specific locations. While it is possible to insert rectangular transparent shapes to create "hot spots" and have a onpress action, there are cases where knowing the X and Y coordinates as a percentage of the width and height of the control would be very useful. e.g.: pointing to a location on a map, zooming in a specific area of a picture, etc...
This would enable a new class of applications.
