Did you mean:

ComboBox - Inputtextplaceholder always visible (like hinttext)

When you set the isSearchable option off a combobox to false then the inputTextPlaceHolder is not visible. See Attachment for picture off behaviour.

Please make this to behave like the hinttext on Textinput.

Result should be that the text is always visible with every setting.

Status: Planned

Planning to implement a NoSelectionText property that would hold the hint text when no searching is enabled.

Hey everyone, just to update this thread, we are considering the best way to solve this problem.  While our intention for the inputTextPlaceholder property was for it to provide search input hints, I totally understand the need to provide hint text for the entire control.

We'll keep you updated as to what the best solution is, however keep in mind that the hint text should not be used for a label.  While it may work for most users, those who rely on screen-reader support will not be able to associate the label with the field.

I absolutely agree with this. I have a large scale app with a number of combo boxes on top of each other. Inputtextplaceholder is vitally important for the end users to know which field is which. Without it, it A) looks poor and B) provides a poor end user experience. It's also not appropriate to provide a header of some kind for each combobox as this just eats up space on the screen.

I do agree that you're missing the perspective on this one. Just make Inputtextplaceholder available if someone wants it, regardless of whether the combo box is searchable.

I noticed that this feature is implemented. Thanks for the PowerApps Team for realizing this. Could you change the status of this idea?

This status can be changed to completed or done. The option is there now.

I notice that this request is implemented. However, I notice a bug.

When we disable the combobox, the control is not retaining the "No Selection Text" or "Input Text Placeholder". The text becomes invisible.

Can you also please fix this?
