In the PowerApps site, the column headings in the list of entities provides the ability to sort. It would be even better if the heading included the ability to filter, i.e, make it easy to just show the entities in a specfic category.

Thanks for the post! You can filter the list using either entity names or category names in the search bar. Just type the category name in the search bar and you should isee a filtered view.
That is a very creative approach, however it is totally unintuitive and inconsistent with the standard heading functionality that has been used for years in Excel, Sharepoint lists and many other web sites.
Searching and filtering are 2 different actions that are performed for slightly different purposes and with different user expectations.
I tried your approach using Custom and it displays my custom entities as well as the Customer entity (which is in the Sales category).
I will repeat my request for a modification to the Heading functionality that includes actual filtering capability in a manner that is similar to Excel list headings.
We have support for this planned.
