I have some static data in a spreadsheet. The columns are named 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, etc. The rows have the first column, A1, with other number values, 100.1, 100.2, 100.3, etc. The sheet is essentially a matrix, and I have to find one intersection value in the matrix. I have imported it as static data into my form. I need to be able to Lookup a specific row by the value in column A1, and then return a specific column's value, based on some input from the user.
For example, the user types in "25" into a text box. I need to then find an item where column A1 = "100.2", and then the find value at column "25.0" for that row. In this case, I do not know the column name ahead of time, however the Lookup function does not let me put in a dynamic column name, or address a column with a string name. I have to pick a specific column during formula creation.
It would be fantastic if we could use a column ordinal position number, or column name, something similar to Excel's "Address" function within the Lookup function.
