Full support for reading and writing to Sharepoint Choice fields, including ones with multiple selections enabled, is essential for PowerApps to be a viable platform.

I noticed that there is now a new feature for allowing multiple choice fields but it seems limited to a dropdown - how do I convert it to a listbox? Not user friendly at all if it is only a dropdown.
I really hope this is not a limitation - I have tried changing the sharepoint item to a checkbox multiple items allowed option but this is ot working for me.
Where would I find documentation on this new feature?
This needs to be implemented, ASAP.
I am curious if anyone from MS monitors these forums - I made a comment regarding how the multiple choice option seems to have been implemented is quite limiting but I have heard no update if this is all it is going to be or not?
In addition since playing with it further I have found that it also seems limited to a form - I cannot create it in a canvas and use patch options. I maybe missing something but this is why I requested if there was documentation anywhere on how this feature works.
I would be quite happy if the response was as simple as - What is out there right now is only a protoype to get feedback and we will continue to work on this option.
I desperately need this for a assessment/survey app linked to Sharepoint lists. I could create something in Visual Studio but company policy is to only use approved applications and not have random applications in the business - Sharepoint allows me to use PA and would adhere to security policies etc. so it could be quite beneficial - it just needs t ocatch up on basic feature requirements.

I am confused how you can change this to completed. It is not complete - you still cannot create a user friendly app with multiple choice checklists or radiobuttons with this implementation.
Even the links you provided state the checkbox multiple selection is not available with how they show how to do it.
Even if I used the links and used an unfriendly interface it does not fit with this tool being a poweruser tool as you are digging into unsupported areas which it also states in those links.
Are you telling me I will need to start up another Idea and wait another year to get multiple choice fields working how they should be - not a half baked solution that is out there today? It boggles my mind why you would limit the multiple choice option to only a dropdown and only via a form.
You thank me for my patience but it is wearing thin considering I am needing to hunt down workarounds to do something basic and then as soon as I "resolve" that I will find another "planned" feature as my next barrier. I understand you are working to a finite amount of resources and can only release so many new features at a time but I would have to say you released PA far too early to be a viable platform just so you could complete with all the other "poweruser" apps out there.

Hey @Gargoolgala can you help explain why the Combo box does not solve the problem for you? From what I understand, it is the extra click to open the UI for selecting?There are some kinks we are working out, but you should be able to use it outside of forms sucessfully already.
But I agree with Audrie, this feature is complete as descibed, we have support for SP choice fields including multi-select. If you are asking for other controls to support SP multi-select, that's another feature.
@FilipK - yes it is the extra click and not being able to visually see what you have selected unless you create a huge dropdown box. Visually a checked listbox is much easier to read at a glance and to show what has been selected.
I would love to know how to use the multiple select outside of a form as when I have added a dropdown I see no Update option to tell it to update the sharepoint list and no multiple select option. IF you can send me documentation on how this would be achieved it would be great.
I still totally disagree this is complete as described as nowhere did it state only dropdowns were required - it said it needed t obe compatible with sharepoint choice fields - of which there are dropdowns / radiobuttons and checklist boxes - of which cechlist boxes are the most logical choice for a multiple selection choice - you even have the multiple choice in the listbox for PA but no multiple select for dropdown.
