The MySQL connector only supports on-premises connections, so we cannot connect if there is a database on the cloud server.
I feel sorry that we cannot use the MySQL connector if in case of like using hosting service.
This also applies to Microsoft's "Azure database for MySQL server" service in Azure. Now we cannot connect to it which is bad because all of my company databases are on these services.
MySQL in-cloud: same problem for me. Could we expect a connection without going through a windows-based Gateway? The DB are not on-premise anyway. Would there be a "general gateway" SaaS available for DB in-cloud instead anytime soon?
