Get app metadata from within the app

We need the ability to get various metadata about the app using formula.  For example it woud be great to display the version number and relelase date of the app rather than manually adding them in a text field.

Yes, my main reason for it is to make sure the customer is seeing the same version that I had published on mobile, which doesn't update properly sometimes.

This is an absolute #MustHave.  We released a new version of an app used by 200 employees in 7 locations.  We had a bug because users it didn't make them update their app.

How can a company be expected to rely on powerapps for business use if we have no way to ensure proper versions are in use?

We really like the platform, but this is absolute critical if we are to continue to use the product.

Is App version information stored in a CDS entity?  For online use case scenarios, could we maybe get the entity/column name to look for in the CDS and connect as datasource?
