MS Dynamics CRM does not support pasting images in outgoing e-mails

Author Name: Juergen Otter

Current situation
In MS Outlook or other Mail-Clients it is possible to paste images from the clipboard directly into outgoing e-mails (html format). The recipients directly see the images in the text flow at the right place and without additional activities regarding opening attachments.

MS Dynamics CRM does not support pasting images in outgoing e-mails.

Expected situation
MS Dynamics CRM should provide the functionality to paste images to outgoing e-mails that is available in many applications. This would increase efficiency and productivity of the users working with the system, and present the content of e-mail to the recipients in the optimal way.

For the sender it is much easier and faster to attach the image to the e-mail by pasting it with one shortcut instead of upload with multiple clicks and folder/file selection steps, and the error probability to forget attaching a file or select the wrong one is decreased. Therefore the complexity of usage of the system and the usability at all is much higher for the agents.

Additional advantages are on the recipients (customer) side of the e-mails, because the images are directly visible at the right place in the text flow (instead of an unstructured list of attachments) and they do not need to open each attachment individually – opening without relation to the right context. Images in the text flow are expected by customers, make it easier to read and understand the content, and finally increase the customer satisfaction.

From a productivity perspective on the senders side a lot of effort of agents can be saved:

Proposed Functionality:
Functionality to paste (CTRL+V or “Paste” in right mouse button menu) an image from the clipboard (similar to formatted text) into the body of outgoing e-mails (or preferred in general into every field that is able to use formatting).

Thank you for your feedback. This is a great suggestion. Hemant already provided a workaround. Our original intentions for CRM email was not to be a full-fledged email client. That being said we will consider this for our future roadmap.

this is very important to a few of my customers and is holding up a large opportunity for me. They want seamless copy and paste to Dyn email editor and easy resize options.

We desperately need this feature as well. Our users keep going back to Outlook because they cannot paste images (like tables, graphs, screen prints) into mails they want to send from CRM. This blocks efficient use of CRM for us because we generate e-mails from business processes. Having to put those images in another file and then attach that file to the mail is simply to much hassle.

This suggestion is from 5 years ago. Just how long is LONG TERM?

This is the main reason why we cannot integrate CRM into our processes. Please add this!

OR just get rid of the e-mails in CRM and integrate Outlook online as the primary e-mail editor for CRM (meaning if I reply on an e-mail activity in CRM it jumps into Outlook online and I can write my reply there).
