Text inputs now have a property called VirtualKeyboardMode. This is a hint to touch screen devices about what sort of virtual keyboard to use.
Text. For entering text in the user's language.
Numeric. For entering numbers, including decimals and negative numbers.
Auto. Use the same value as the Mode property of the text input.
Support varies depending on device. The keyboard layout and available keys may be different. For example, some Samsung devices do not have negative symbols in the default numeric keyboard. Users can always install a different Android keyboard that is suitable for their needs.
Enhancements are planned to facilitate configuration of specific data types, as well as binding scenarios where the source data type is respected in the properties of the field.
Thank you for continuing to offer your feedback and suggestions!
Switching to the numeric keyboard for numbers seems really simple and non important but is the main reason for our company not to launch our app (which will be used by more than 100 people). I think the simplicity of powerapps makes it great for data collection and surveying but small limitations like this are just braking all that potential.
No one will use an app that is frustrating to use and sadly people nowadays are easily frustrated.
Hopefully this will be implemented soon as it feels like an easy fix with a consequent outcome.
Why is this taking so long. Really need numeric keypad only for number textinput. It's very frustrating to keep changing keyboard on iPad Pro when the keyboard is so large.
I would love to see this feature as well. I am new to PowerApps and have been trying to work out how to set a numeric keyboard on the tablet/phone. This request answers my question.
