PLEASE give us a real code editor

PLEASE give us a real code editor. This dropdown thing has to go. How about using Monaco?

This is definitely a journey -- but we're on it. We've recently shipped commenting and the ability to auto-format formulas ("pretty print"), and there's more on the way for this experience

Yes please, that tiny window just isn't cutting it, especially when you have a bunch of nested functions.

In addition, would be great to be able to see a listing for each screen of ALL controls, with the code for each on each method, etc.  This should be searchable.

Yes, these are great additions, thankyou!

Cant wait for the day when we can open a powerapp in vscode!

(btw there is a bug in the code formatter. See https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/Bug-in-formula-formatting/m-p/148037#M50624)

It should aim to reusability, maybe creating a category (code/functions) as a left hand object other than screens, (access-like) and reference these functions from the controls. That way I can keep my controls code clean.

Amen to all the above. I sure would like BrianR's idea for being able to get at all my functions readily in one place as well as freddyccix's idea to have an abstracted place for re-usable code...i.e. functions that can be used from multiple screens for re-usability.

I'd like to follow my code line by line so I can see where performance is getting hung-up

@AveDog08, it doesn't yet do what you (and I) want for debugging/code-execution monitoring, but I thought I'd mention it so that:

1) If you (or others aren't aware of it

2) &/or people want to add some "push" for code monitoring to be next....

I.e. there is the new Monitor feature in PwrApps studio.  Right now it only does network monitoring, but it will hopefully soon start adding features so we can get a better idea of what is happening in our app as code executes (or fails to).
