As a BI consultant of large companies I often have the requirement to enable writeback in a Power BI Report.
Of course you think of Power Apps right away. Microsoft also recommends this approach.
The only problem is that if you have a large number of report users, Power Apps becomes unaffordable or any custom development or third party vendor becomes cheaper.
At €8.40 per month for 5,000 users, the company pays €504,000 per year in license costs for the writeback. Even with Microsoft discounts it is far too expensive.
My suggestion:
Let's introduce a PowerApp Premium Server license. Similar to Power BI.
Otherwise, it won't be Microsoft that makes the writeback revenue in the enterprise sector, but someone else.
