Currently there is a limitation of uploading a file attachment size to max of 10 MB. SInce SPO can accept upto 250 MB per file in a list item, it makes sense to increase the attachment size in PowerApps to 250MB.
We've removed the limit for attachments to support higher upload limits, as they become available by different connectors. It became available in 6.4 - Released version 3.21064 - Release Notes | Microsoft Docs
Hope this helps.
I'd make sure that your planned licensing spend lines up with the use case - MS have massively hiked costs for using powerapps to the extent we've eliminated them from our plans moving forward. TBF the costs are ludicrous, you can probably buy something off the shelf for a lot less than they think you'll pay.A single sharepoint upload powerapp would set you back 10usd per user, per month. Another option is something bonkers like 400 usd per app per month for unlimited users (but don't quote me!).
I've moaned at them about it on twitter - suggest you do the same.
We are going ahead with a "soft launch" of this feature by increasing the attachment file size limit to 50MB by mid-December. Then we plan to test it in prod, increase the limit further, and announce it in January hopefully.
It's already mid-December and I have not seen this available in the experimental features...any update on when this functionality will be available?
They said mid-December, they didn't say what year.
and we are still waiting 😓
I believe a "Soft Launch" is where they change something and don't publicise it. I've just successfully attached a 40MB File using my dev PowerApp.
Yes, this is live now (as of Friday of last week) in all regions. You can increase the value of the MaxAttachmentSize property up to 50 (MB).
Thanks Filip & Gimbal for the update..just checked at my end..works fine up to 50MB as well. As you mentioned need to update the field of MaxAttachmentsSize property to 50 and works like a charm 🙂
Awesome thank you so much 🙂
Thanks a lot, PowerApps team... my business users will be very happy to know about the increase in file attachment size. I have tested the same on my end, works perfectly. 👍
