As this is designed for ENTERPRISE, printing from the within the APPS will make PowerApps superior to Excel and even ERP / SAP system.
If ONENOTE can be accomplished (for printing) after our request, why not PowerApps.

Hi everyone,

The first release includes a new Print function in canvas apps, to be used on any screen, and when used will take the contents of the screen and open it in the browser’s default print dialog to enable selecting the available printer, or saving to PDF options. We are also working on screen templates that will help you to author this content. Initially we will only support this on the web, but it will be extended to support mobile devices. Things are trending well with the dev effort, with the roll out starting the end of February, with availability across all regions coming mid March.

The second phase of this work will be to introduce a function that enables saving a screen as a PDF in the app. This will allow compatibility to leverage Power Automate flows to do many of the events such as saving it somewhere, sending an email and other common actions. This is currently still in progress, and we can provide an update in the next few weeks.

Why not send email to e-printers or print screen from mobile phones?

14th of Feb was the last update on this. Four months. Nice

We have given up and moved on, I still get notifications through because I posted but for all your own sanities do the same! This is not high on the agenda and when (or if) it does come I should imagine it'll still not suit everybody.

It has been on started status, but no updates in "forever" and I have not seen it in the near future release plans. Is this on purpose, really?

What this does is push people away from using it.... I hope they realize that once you invest in something else it will be too late to switch...

Is everyone that's commenting filling out the survey? When I first commented, I hadn't noticed the survey. I just filled it out, I'm sure if every one went back and did the same we'd continue to see traction on what we need.

I have an idea that could resolve part of this issue.  I build a lot of Apps,  but the majority of users only use them on their PC or LapTop.  Why dont you create a print cability that uses the inbuilt OS print window when the app is being used on a PC type like MS access does.

PS: You could also do this capturing attachments that are not formed based

This at least gives us this option.

Since every platoform is able to deal with PDFs, it seems that no matter which platform you are on, just render it to a PDF and pop it out in the device's native PDF viewer so you have access to print, save, share, email, etc.  Keep it simple, but the rendering does need to happen client side since some of our applications are always offline and don't have access to the internet for these operations.

Hi All, like most of you I upvoted this idea as I've struggled to meet the needs of end users who cry out to print.  I'd encourage you all to watch the PowerApps Vision and Roadmap session from MBAS a couple of weeks ago, link here.  It was a great session but spoiler alert, you'll find that there is no mention of printing.  It was a notable absence for me, so on ~46mins you'll just about hear me ask the guys on stage (Charles Lamanna @clamanna  & Ryan Cunningham) what's happening with printing. And they gave a really honest answer that its not on the roadmap because PowerBI is much further down the line on printing (want to avoid duplication of effort) and in particular Paginated reports should be the hammer to crack this nut.

Hope this helps

I am watching this space since months and still there is no update when this functionality will be actually available. I am a big advocate of using Powerapps but the response from the Microsoft team is forcing me to think again and go back to some custom development. This will be a big blow from out Architectural roadmap but looks like this is the only solution as we dont want to go with some hacky solution to use Flow, One drive to generate the pdf which is already been build once in the app.

Hi everyone in this loop.

I am Hong (pk Hong, hpkeong) and I am the one who create this hot ideas since th beginning stage.

I joined as insider in Jan 2016. Idea for printing was posted then after I tried to convince client to test using.

Nonetheless ,everyone is asking for Printing feature.

In the real world, printing has been a normal habit for all users to see something physical and not something in the screen (virtual).

But I guess from the perspective of Microsoft, they might see several things differently

1. They are facing how to provide printing features but continue to charge users slightly higher in fee (in Plan) as it might have to use a database to temporary storing data prior printing. will that worth it (this was something shared by Microsoft staff personally to me months ago). For Microsoft, nothing is free.

2. Since tablet and mobile phone cam view almost everything and shared, why needs printing?

3. Using flow to save to Dropbox, One drive or Googl drive and print as HTML or saved as PDF for printing might just take a few more seconds. Why bother to create extra features

In fact,if one know how to create Custom Connector, and trigger to own Database system., print HTML from web is a direct method.

But you got to pay for it as it consumed data.

I am here to help.
