As this is designed for ENTERPRISE, printing from the within the APPS will make PowerApps superior to Excel and even ERP / SAP system. If ONENOTE can be accomplished (for printing) after our request, why not PowerApps.
The first release includes a new Print function in canvas apps, to be used on any screen, and when used will take the contents of the screen and open it in the browserโs default print dialog to enable selecting the available printer, or saving to PDF options. We are also working on screen templates that will help you to author this content. Initially we will only support this on the web, but it will be extended to support mobile devices. Things are trending well with the dev effort, with the roll out starting the end of February, with availability across all regions coming mid March.
The second phase of this work will be to introduce a function that enables saving a screen as a PDF in the app. This will allow compatibility to leverage Power Automate flows to do many of the events such as saving it somewhere, sending an email and other common actions. This is currently still in progress, and we can provide an update in the next few weeks.
Hi, I'm sure PowerApps will take an other dimension as soon as formating documents / printing and "save as pdf" solutions are available. Tell us please.... Thanks
Please add a printing feature or export to pdf feature. What is the point of showing an invoicing app as a demo and we cannot export the invoice to the customer? Other way could be to have a reportibg engine using common data source and which can be easily accessed from a power app.
This is a most-wanted feature! We use PA for checklists in the field, they need to be printed as a verification to the customer. Hope that you implement this at near future.
Our company is all set to move our forms over to PowerApps with one exception -- we need to print some of the forms for legal reasons. Is this option on the list of features? If it is, how soon do you estimate before it is available?
One additional comment. If we can convert a PowerApp to a PDF-- not only could it be printed but also separated into single pages, add additional documents and any other features available in PDF formats. I work for a home builder. Converting over to PAs for all contract forms allows them to be used on tablets/smartphones. This makes it easier for sales to take forms directly to the customer for info and completion. We need to have both digital and paper copies.
If microsoft could provide proper printing functionality in power apps, this would be a major brekathrough. In doing this, microsoft must consider barcode label printing and support for printing onto major printer types.
