As this is designed for ENTERPRISE, printing from the within the APPS will make PowerApps superior to Excel and even ERP / SAP system. If ONENOTE can be accomplished (for printing) after our request, why not PowerApps.
Thanks everyone - to expand on Emma's reply below on the various types of "printing" that were identified in our recent survey, and the report capabilities already available in CDS, we are beginning engineering work for Canvas App export to PDF and are planning to release this functionality in February 2021. We understand this feature is hotly anticipated and are excited to get this underway. As soon as we can make early preview or experimental features available we will and will continue to provide updates on this idea, and on our blog.
Thank you to all the members of our community that have voted, provided feedback and been patient as we work to get this work underway.
I have found many work arounds to the lack of print functionality but there are some need that really makes powerapps a useless tool without it. The inability to print a receipt or a barcode label. Does anyone have this capability or suggestion
@leyburn19 - I had to add separate steps for it. For printing a label, I created a screen for it to be displayed in the right proportions that it would need to be printed... and from there, the user can take a snapshot and then paste it in the Word Template or Label Printer and just expand it to fit the bounds of what the template is (that's why making the label in the same proportions is important).
that was my path since PA cannot just print a given screen on a printer one would select... 😕
for years, I've seen these desperately endless questions and the intended ignorance from Microsoft. we have already decided to move our development to salesforce and very happy about it. our clients cant wait.
@CWesener Thank for the reply. There is a lot of anxious people (including myself) to see what´s the solution. Please give us a taste of how the printing will work!
Please as you said that printing will be available as a PDF export, allow us to determine the paper size of the PDF. we desperatly need to print on Dymo Labelwriter 450 our inventory Barcode, as well as shipping label and many other purposes.
