Printing

As this is designed for ENTERPRISE, printing from the within the APPS will make PowerApps superior to Excel and even ERP / SAP system.
If ONENOTE can be accomplished (for printing) after our request, why not PowerApps.

Hi everyone,

The first release includes a new Print function in canvas apps, to be used on any screen, and when used will take the contents of the screen and open it in the browser’s default print dialog to enable selecting the available printer, or saving to PDF options. We are also working on screen templates that will help you to author this content. Initially we will only support this on the web, but it will be extended to support mobile devices. Things are trending well with the dev effort, with the roll out starting the end of February, with availability across all regions coming mid March.

The second phase of this work will be to introduce a function that enables saving a screen as a PDF in the app. This will allow compatibility to leverage Power Automate flows to do many of the events such as saving it somewhere, sending an email and other common actions. This is currently still in progress, and we can provide an update in the next few weeks.

Thanks,
-Emma

Is there really no option to add a print control?

I need to have my app print out a receipt at the press of a print button.

print()

😞

How was this not included?

Regarding the printing issue --- a possible temp fix to this problem.

Until the printing option is available within PowerApps, my suggestion would be to try using the Snipping Tool which is included within Windows, or a program similar to ST.  This allows you to select exactly what you need on the screen then Print it, save it to Adobe for PDF file or simply use the option-- Send To: as an attachment or within email or added into the email text area. I know it is not perfect, but works for now. Try it and let me know what you think.

MS Team,

Can you update on the progress on printing. Printing is a super important function for any basic office requirement. When can we expect to get this functionality?

@Anonymous

I initiated PRINTING ideaas since the very first day of PowerApps (or even Project Siena).

Though I was verbally promised to be available in Sep 2017, but nothing happen.

ERP without Printing, or even converting to PDF, is something like looking Drumstick on the Posters!

I used to control Receipt, Table, etc. within SCREEN Viewable area, screenshot (mobile and Win 10 is easy), and then send out using email or attach to Whatsapp (call within PowerApps.. refer to my post on Launch or using WhatsApp API).

However, as you agree, this is not the best ideas, as most of the information to be printed or pdfed is more than one page.

I have even written a blog on PAGINATION so that one can Print Screen page by page and printout.

Looks stupid but workable..though no choice.

 It would seem that this has been in Under Review for a while. Any updates? @Audrie-MSFT? Should I tag some other devs to raise this?

Any update on this? Or maybe tag someone who can give us an update on this?

P.S. Apparently, there's a tag limit.

Randomly? lol. I just looked at my posts and the posts I follow and find out if somebody from PA Staff had posted. They have titles there. Although, there's probably a better way of finding PA staff.
