Printing

As this is designed for ENTERPRISE, printing from the within the APPS will make PowerApps superior to Excel and even ERP / SAP system.
If ONENOTE can be accomplished (for printing) after our request, why not PowerApps.

Hi everyone,

The first release includes a new Print function in canvas apps, to be used on any screen, and when used will take the contents of the screen and open it in the browser’s default print dialog to enable selecting the available printer, or saving to PDF options. We are also working on screen templates that will help you to author this content. Initially we will only support this on the web, but it will be extended to support mobile devices. Things are trending well with the dev effort, with the roll out starting the end of February, with availability across all regions coming mid March.

The second phase of this work will be to introduce a function that enables saving a screen as a PDF in the app. This will allow compatibility to leverage Power Automate flows to do many of the events such as saving it somewhere, sending an email and other common actions. This is currently still in progress, and we can provide an update in the next few weeks.

Thanks,
-Emma

Printing would be a very useful option to have.

Agree. Printing and specifically barcode printing would be great.

Thank you for your feedback. Can you give us a couple of examples of the things you expect to be printed ? - do you foresee creating documents and printing them?

It's not so much creating documents as being able to print a screen full of information from PowerApps.

For example, the App has retrieved information about a particular product which is being displayed on the screen. It would be easier for the user if there was a print option accessible from within the App.

Google Cloud Print integration or similar would be fantastic!

Printing would be a great way to give a full package to our customers. They want to make a checklist they use every day to complete the audit. The results need to be printed and archived.

Printing is required in scenario's concerning

Legal matters, contracts, chain of evidence, when reports are required in a court case, Proof of Due Diligence.

Digital signatures are not always accepted, a hand written signature is, therefore a printed document is required in a lot of cases.

Data leakage should be controlled by the Company Information Policies.

But the ability to print or the ability to export to Word or PDF is a must in a lot of cases.

Happy to hear this is under review! One of our use cases for something like this is to automatically print out order tickets at the production. Our order and warehouse management software will send out Emails - but doesn't have the ability to auto-print. So presently we've got a Google AppScript script that watches a Gmail inbox and when an Email comes in with a specific tag, it will either take the PDF attachment or the HTML Email and send it off to the appropriate printer via Google CloudPrint. It would be nice to bring all this into our Office 365 envrionment - or at least cut out the Google AppScript part.
