Spell Check

Full spell check capability for PowerApps would be very helpful.

Status: Completed

You can now enable the spell checker in all browsers on the Text input and Rich-text editor controls.  Simply set the EnableSpellCheck property to true to have your browser's spell check enabled in your app.

Note that this property is set to "false" by default in Text input, causing spell-check to not be enabled by default in Chrome, which was the case before.  Simply set it to true, and you'll have spell-checking in all browsers, including mobile.

I completly agree with this one, some of the amazing people I work with have English as their 5th Language,. Being  poligots they really need spell checkers, imagine having the dictionary for 5 languages in your head.... WOW!

We certainly understand the need.  What controls, or scenarios do you see your users using spell checker in?

We've been asked for spell checking facilities in various apps we've created where there is a multi-line text input (variance commentary, issues register etc).  I think that this would be useful addition.

Everywhere I have to type something into has spellcheck, except the Apps I use on PowerApps. I am having a hard time with user adoption right now and this being cited as one of the big reasons. I even had a user tell me they were typing their content into word, spell checking, and then copying over to their PowerApp. I agree with the above, any Text Input field, especially multiline should have the ability to turn on a spell checker. Thanks!

@FilipK - Just adding another voice of agreement to the above. For better and for worse, spell check is now an inherent necessity of any data input mechanism --- such as the WYSIWYG in this very forum:

We are planning to enable end-users to use their browser's spell-checking and correcting functionality on the Text input and Rich Text Editor controls.

Excellent! Thanks for the update @FilipK

Does the planned spell check functionality include the PowerApps Windows desktop application? ...and is there a timescale for this? Our users capture a lot of Rich Text that has to be to accurate as it can be the subject of Freedom of Info requests. Also a number of users with dyslexia.

We are planning to implement this sometime in the summer of 2019.  Windows client is not a priority as that client is only being supported with critical fixes.  But if it is easy to do, we'll add the support.
