Tree View Control

The idea is a new control called Tree View. The existing controls (different galleries, drop down lists) make it very difficult (or impossible) to work with hierarchical data structures. What we would like to have is a cascading tree view. You should be able to:

  • open and close cascading branches of the view
  • filter based on search term
  • select a node (or, if possible, sometimes multiple nodes)

I know that standard list view works to some extend here, but our hierarchy has 9000 items. It is very hard to select an item and somehow know that there are child items when using the existing controls.

I would add that it would be great if it was possible to switch between different language versions of the view. We have a hierarchy that exists in multiple language versions, and would like to be able to switch between them to support different company locations.

Audrie. I see that this has been marked as Completed. Can you tell us what solution has been implemented?

Thank you Audrie, Unfortunately the Screen Explorer Tree View has nothing to do with the requested control. What is needed is a control that can be used to view data structures.

@AJSyseng My apologies for the misunderstanding. @FilipK from controls to status this request for you.

Again, my apologies for misunderstanding, and we appreciate your patience as we continue to improve the product.

Respectfully,

Audrie

We have discussed this and have it on our radar, but not as an immediate priority.  But this is definitely a useful feature.  Rough estimate is that we'll get to it in 2018.

No problem Audrie. Thank you for the reply Filip. I will keep a lookout for it.

this needs to move from completed to planned - this is a very useful control and if it is in completed I would think it will be lost in here.
