When trying to configure MOCA 8.1 app on the Windows 10 machine for CRM 2016 Org

Author Name: Dinesh Mahajan

The problem can happen due to port. Any port that Webkit/Chrome/iOS treat as “unsafe” ports cannot be used as the CRM SSL Port or the app cannot connect, because it appears to be hooking through the security layer on the Mobile Devices.

This list includes (but is not limited to) the following ports (many of which would never be used for CRM, but just to be exhaustive – the alt IRC ports at the end are the important ones): 1, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 37, 42, 43, 53, 77, 79, 87, 95, 101, 102, 103, 104, 109, 110, 111, 113, 115, 117, 119, 123, 135, 139, 143, 179, 389, 465, 512, 513, 514, 515, 532, 540, 556, 587, 601, 636, 993, 995, 2049, 3659, 4045, 6000, 6666, 6667, 6668, 6669.

We confirmed this by modifying the CRM port values/firewall rules to various settings in and not in the list – for any item on this list, we see the behavior we have been troubleshooting. For items not in it, the application works well.

The Android logs doesn't help in this scenario as it silently blocks. The iPad log can help us in this situation.

The Error log below can viewed for reference.
