In the new licensing model which is announced for Portals (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/powerapps-flow-licensing-faq#can-you-share-mor...), any number of portals can be created now without paying an instance fees and can be used for dev/test purpose. This provides the cheap dev/test option to customers as they can use these portals with minimum capacity.

Hence marking this item as complete.

Thank you for your suggestion.  This will provide a good solution for our customers until we have opened up supported configuration paths for these types of customization.

Sincerely,

Shan McArthur

Thank you for your feedback.  We are considering how to migrate portal content and configuration from one CRM to another and from one website to another.

Thank you for your suggestion.  Enabling the portal to handle search results of any custom entity is an important feature.  We are looking at ways of doing that in a configurable manner as we don't currently have custom development support in portals.

Thank you for your suggestion.  Our current strategy is to open up ISVs to publish portal solutions in AppSource, and this would include ecommerce and payment processing solutions.  It is already possible to integrate some payment processing systems as long as they support cross-site javascript integration.  Please check out George Doubinski's presentation at Ignite on how to integrate a payment system into our current portals.  The content is at around 1:00. Here is a recording of the presentation: Microsoft Ignite Australia Portal Presentation

Thanks you for the suggestion, we discussed this within the team and have rolled out a process of early testing every release in your non production (dev/test) environments before it goes GA and gets applied to your production environments.

This process is explained here https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/crm/2017/08/08/demystifying-dynamics-365-portals-update-process/. If you have any feedback on the process, do let us know.

Since this process has been rolled out for around 3 releases now, i am marking this as completed.

We are not planning on shipping vertical solutions and will rely on partners shipping 311 solutions instead.  Please look forward to vertical portal solutions in AppSource.
