Applying duplicate data detection rules to portal site

Hi all,

When registering/editing data to the account table, the duplicate data is detected by the duplicate data detection rule for data with the same DisplayName in direct data registration/editing to Dataverse or data registration/editing using a model driven apps, but when registering data in the account table via the portal site, duplicate data is not detected and registered.
Is it possible to detect duplicate data using the portal site?
If so, please let me know how to do so.

Hi, Duplicated Detection Rules are not applicable in Power Apps Portals

how exactly do you want the behaviour to be? 

• block users from creating duplicated records:
  • you can achieve this by adding an Alternate Key to your table
  • or you can add a custom c# plug-in to detect the duplicate record, and throw an exception
• prompt user with what to do:
  • this would be a bit more complicated, you would need to add JS logic when submitting the record, check via Fetch to see if there is a duplicated record, and then prompt the user with a custom modal / message

I would like to emphasize that I can create a portal site with low code, so I think I will not detect duplicate records this time.
However, your suggestion was very useful for me.
