Sorry for that, but I can't reproduce your issue.
I have created one column section and two columns section, their size are all appropriate and Form can be added properly
Since there are no editable properties, could create a new portal to check if this issue still exists?
Note: One environment can only have one portal.

However, if I have to do that each time a control won't display properly, then the product becomes unusable.

Thanks for the reply.
In the end I deleted the portal and started again.
This time however it kept saying 'something went wrong' and would not create the portal.
Eventually when I did manage to create it, I noticed it brought back all the old screens from the portal I deleted.
Also it did not create the portal management app.
The column behaviour remains the same.
