Dynamics Business Central Portals Licensing Cost

I am confused about whether or not Power App Portals are included in the licensing for Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The language inside the "Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Power Automate and Microsoft Power Virtual Agents Licensing Guide February 2020" (see above) seems to suggest that you can build a Power Apps Portal for Dynamics 365 business central in the same environment and it's included in the existing licensing.

 

What isn't clear is if this includes external user access? Specifically I am looking to build a vendor portal for external users to be able to update vendor information. The Power Apps Portal will only connect to Dynamics 365 Business Central.

 

Would any additional licensing need to be purchased for this?

I believe you would need a "usage" license for the portal in your scenario.

To get more information I would suggest reaching out to our licensing support team (pasting that information here).

 

Billing support is provided in English from 9 AM-5 PM (9 AM-6 PM in Australia), Monday-Friday.
Technical support is provided in English 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Admins, have your account details ready when you call.

  • In the United States, call 1 800 865 9408.

  • In Australia, call 1 800 197 503.

  • In Canada, call 1 800 865 9408.

  • In the United Kingdom, call 0800 032 6417.

If your Office 365 or Microsoft 365 Business support phone number isn't listed above, use the drop-down menu below to choose your country or region.
