File Upload in Power Apps Portal

Custom Portal Issue

  1. File Upload in Power Apps Portal

Problem Statement:

We need to show the preview for the files which are selected through attaching file control from the portal and, we need to provide edit and delete options for the files.

We are using a web form from the portal, and we have multiple steps attached to that web form.

For each step, we need to provide file upload functionality along with a preview of the file.

We have tried to add the Notes section, but we can have only one timeline per web form so, that approach is not working for us.

"we can have only one timeline per web form"

it's true we can only have one timeline per dataverse form.. but in your Web Form, you can have two different steps pointing to the same tab.. or even use different dataverse forms in your Web Form Steps.. so what I am trying to say is that you can have more than one timeline in your Web Form Steps

with regards your "preview" idea.. that sounds very interesting.. basically what I would try is something like this:

  • timeline control so user can upload files
  • use custom JS/HTML to display the files as the "preview"
  • in this page users can remove/edit
  • the page should have a required Checkbox that they confirm all files are okay
  • next page should have no action for changing the files, possibly not allow the user to go back to the previous step either
