Hi! I have no real Dynamics experience but I'm trying to set up the basic functionality for a simple case logging portal.
The official guidance at: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/portals/create-portal ...provides some elements of this but does not provide a worked example with linked external users and associated records which the users can view and update themselves.
Please advise of any guidance and or examples. I have been unable to track down any such documentation, video resources or similar.
Thanks
Hi @BillYoung-arm ,
Do you want to know how to configure for external users of portal?
In this case, account credentials and password management are handled by a third-party identity provider. Users sign up to the portal by selecting an external identity to register with the portal. After it is registered, an external identity has access to the same features as a local account.
This includes OpenID based providers such as Yahoo! and Google and OAuth 2.0 based providers such as Twitter, Facebook, and Microsoft.
Here's a doc about Configuration of Open ID:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/portals/configure/configure-openid-settings
Here's a doc about Configuration of OAuth 2.0:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/portals/configure/configure-oauth2-settings
Except using existing third party account, you could also register new external account in the portal.
Users have the option to choose which type of account they want to register.
If you want user to manage and display his account information in the portal, I'm afraid it's not supported in portal now.
I suggest you express your views about adding this function on PowerApps Ideas Forum. Your precious feedback will be very helpful for our work.

Best regards,
Hi Phoebe
Thanks for the reply
I'm really trying to undertsand the basic plumbing of the site.
By adding a "Created By (Portal user)" to my custom entity, I've managed to get a record of who created theitem and subsequently created a page of that user's records, via a filtered Entity List
I could've done with some guidance on that and now I need to work out how to add the links to the Entity List records to view the details, edit the record and add new records
Dynamics Portals appear similar but there appears to be little explanation of these processes for the new Power Portals
Are there any such resources that you can point me to?
Thanks
Bill
Hi @BillYoung-arm, I know it's an old thread, but in case you haven't resolved yet here is an idea to your issue
You can use pretty much the same documentation as D365 Portals in case you find that online, in fact Power Apps Portals is just a re-branded D365 Portals, with the exception of Events Portals, that is still exclusive to D365
check this link to add a web page with an entity list: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/portals/configure/entity-lists
