How to upgrade bootstrap version "3.3.6" to "4.5.7" in portal to use grid sorting

Hello  Experts,

I have a bootstrap grid on one of the web-pages of the portal, I have a requirement that Grid data needs to be sorted based on few columns in the grid.

I wanted to use the grid sorting functionality on the bootstrap grid mentioned in below link, 
https://mdbootstrap.com/docs/jquery/tables/sort/  

However, I have lower bootstrap version i.e. "3.3.6" now and I want to upgrade bootstrap version to "4.5.7" in my portal, in order to avail the sorting functionality. 

what are best possible ways to upgrade the bootstrap version in my portal?

Hi @praneshJ,

Unfortunately we cannot upgrade bootstrap to higher version. You can load separately higher version including js to a web template but it might have some side effects like naming collision etc. I would advice you to either try to find a way to use v3 or if not possible find different library and use it.

Perhaps some good news for you.  I completely agree with @OOlashyn upgrading bootstrap will have many side effects in the portal. But for your use case since you need only Table with Sorting. I have spent some time on portal to making it work. I have tested completely and it works fab 🙂

Download the Zip file and extract it and please follow the below steps. 

Here are the detailed steps for you and the screenshot:  

1.  In portal settings > Web files > upload the following files. ".map" file is optional. 

Note: Make sure you select the parent page as Home.

2.  In portal settings> Web Templates > create new template with the name of your choice and paste the following code. And then save and close.

Step 3: In portal Settings > Page Templates > New Template > Make sure you select the web template you created in the previous step. Screenshot below for reference. 

Step 4: In Portal Settings > Web pages > Create new > and select page template as per the step 3. Ex: Samplemd bootstrap ( Page Template Name) 

Imp step: In portal studio do the sync configuration
