Import Data and Associate It with Accounts

What is the best way to import data via Excel or CSV on a scheduled basis and associate each row/record with an account? I'm assuming entity list filters can then be used to sort the records based on the user's account so that they can only see the records that pertain to them. Thanks

It could depend on the volume of data.  I would suggest looking at SSIS tools.  Using that, you could import the data to CDS from the files (you will likely need to create a custom entity to represent the data you are importing).


Then, from the Portal side, create the entity list but setup entity permissions to restrict viewing to just data belonging to the contacts (based on the account they belong to).

You can simply use the standard import functionality in CDS

I think question was that it needed to be scheduled or automated.  Another consideration is to convert the CSV files to Excel and use MS Flow.

I suggest Power Platform Data Flows, a tool inside the Power Platform which you can accomplish all your data work there. and it's already there for you with no additional cost.

I wouldn't recommand Flow for data migration, SSIS with kingsway would be a better solution
