RTF-editor in Entity Form not showing toolbar

Hello,

I have an entity list form with a multi-line text column. I have configured it to show the RTF-editor. 

In the form editor the RTF-editor is displayed included with the toolbar. But on the actual page itself only a text field is shown and not the toolbar.

The only thing is could think of is that currently only normal text is saved in the record for this column and not actual HTML. Has that anything to do with not showing the actual RTF-editor and only a normal Text component?

I hope someone could help me out.

Hi @Bart-qteam ,

What you are trying to achieve is basically to use PCF control on your portal as RTF editor is standard PCF control. To allow it in the portal please follow instructions in this official docs - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/portals/component-framework#configure-portal-for-co....

@OOlashyn thanks for your message! I've currently followed the steps as suggested by Microsoft. The problem I am having right now is that the portal is looking for a RTEGlobalConfiguration.json but can't find it. I've checked if it existed, and it does in the Webresource.

@Bart-qteam I tested on my trial portal and have the same bug. It clearly a problem on the MS side. I would advise you to open a support ticket with MS. @justinburch can you take a look?

I don't believe the portal supports the OOTB rich text editor. By adding it to the form, it looks like it's trying to pull in an OOTB / managed Web Resource for the JSON, which doesn't exist in the current state. I could be wrong on this, but the last time I tried to implement RTF, I was following Nicholas Hayduk's (without success ☹️) due to the same limitation.

However, if you submitted a bug (I'm late to see this), I would be eager to know if the PG provided a resolution.

Hi @justinburch,

You're correct. Currently the RTF-editor is not support OOTB. In the current quarter with version 9.4.1.x of the portals this might be fixed.
