Dataset harness - [context.parameters.sampleDataSet] - number of records

First off, great work to the tooling team around the latest version of CLI.  I've noticed a few improvements so far.

So i'm compiling and debugging the sample dataset component:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/developer/component-framework/sample-controls/data-set-gr...

And it runs great inside the harness:

column.PNG

And noticed, it is generating for 3 records.  And within :

context.parameters.sampleDataSet

I can indeed see that there are three recid's.  Is there anyway to set this any arbitary number?  E.g. fill an entire screen with 50 records?

Cheers!

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Currently the sample data that is used to drive a data-set control in the harness is fixed.  As a result, there will always be three records.  We have a planned future update to enable users to configure this.

Thank you,

Alex

I did some test for a custom control and the display seems to adapt to the content of the control.

So if I have three records, my control shows something like two rows. If I have more records, number or rows used increase and I can always see all records.

Within the harness or within Dynamics?

In dynamics

Yes, works well in Dynamics. I was referring to the harness.

It is generating the same data set for my custom component too.

If we can inject mock data (preferrably from a json file), that would be really nice as we can easily get data in json from D365 web API.

Yeah figured that was the case.  I can always inject my own simulation code during debug and remove for production.. so no biggy.

Yes would be great to have more control around this in a future release.  Thanks for coming back to me.
