Community Corner 05: MBAS2018 Speakers&Sessions/Templates/Spotlight(Community Success)

Microsoft Business Applications Summit 2018 (July 22-24)

As this awesome first-time event draws closer and closer I am just becoming more and more excited for what an excellent opportunity this will be for Community Members and Admins to connect along with the experts behind the very mechanics of some of your favorite Microsoft Business Applications. If you haven't checked out the MBAS Event Website yet, it will definitely give you some reason to register for this event!

This Microsoft Event will have a large section dedicated specifically to the community members and coordinators of some of the different Microsoft Business Applications Communities (PowerApps, Power BI, Microsoft Flow, Dynamics 365). There will be a presenting stage for each of the apps that were just mentioned along with a Community Hangout area for each of them as well! I know that this will be an awesome event in terms of individuals gaining knowledge and also in terms of all attendees having fun, connecting with other users and experts, and most important of all creating some memories that will last long after you've concluded your MBAS experience.

@JonL and I will both be attending this event to represent the awesome Microsoft Flow Community and we really hope to see some of our great community members attending this event! I plan to take some group photos and videos of all of the current Flow Community members that are present and also the ones that join during this event! There will also be opportunities for people who are not yet members of their favorite Microsoft Business Applications Communities to get help registering and learning about how to use the community!

Here are some great links to help you choose which sessions and talks that you will want to attend!

New Templates & Connectors

Along with the newly released connector, a template has been created to extract data from your Parserr email into a Google Sheet! This eliminates a crucial copying and pasting step on yet another mail app that many Flow users find themselves wanting to pull data from! Find the template here:

There has also been a recently released connector for Microsoft Azure Video Indexer. This Microsoft Azure product is a very impressive piece of AI technology made by Microsoft, This product lets you start turning your videos into insights right away. No more tedious and error-prone manual indexing. And no more need for specialized expertise. With Video Indexer, just upload your video, and start finding insights right away, without writing a single line of code.

Spotlight

This week in my spotlight segment I'd like to take a moment to say thank you, for all of the Flow Community Users who try to stay updated on Flow Community news and give their feedback whenever asked! You are literally the life-blood of this community and it literally wouldn't function the same without all of YOU, the Flow Community Users! I have really enjoyed my time as your Community Manger so far and I hope to only increase my skills in being able to provide this great Community with regular quality content and articles along with being able to comb through the Community and offer a friendly suggestion or reminder wherever I can!

Now with all of that said, there are some very important ideas and gestures that we as a Community must uphold to one another in order to continue to see the wide-spread development of our Community in the ways that we have seen so far. If we manage to uphold a very few and specific set of goals and standards while participating in the Community then we will continue to see the amount of growth and success offered by this great online Community.

A few of these very important values and gestures include:

- Following ALL Microsoft Flow Community Guidelines and Treating Fellow Flow Community Members with utmost respect.

- Responding to any questions or comments made on your topic threads in the most timely manner possible to help ensure that the thread stays active and you or the original author eventually meets resolution to your issue through that thread.

-  When you feel that the issue explained in your thread has been properly addressed or dealt with in a way that either solves your issue, you are required accept the solution so that the thread will be marked as solved and it will be much easier for other users to find resolution to their same issues when searching through the Community. This gesture is so crucial to important information being marked for other users to see and use right away. So whether you've just been offered some advice that helps you find further questions or issues that might not be related to the original thread or whether you've just created a whole new thread to address the issue in a different way, YOU MUST CLICK   "Accept as Solution"  ON THE CORRECT SOLUTION IN ORDER FOR YOUR THREAD TO REMAIN TO BE SEEN BY USERS VISITING THAT CATEGORY BOARD.

Thank you so much for reading this week's edition of Microsoft Flow Community Corner!

I hope everyone has an awesome day!

-Gabriel
